Company History
Target Information was founded in 1977 as a typesetting company in Jackson, Michigan. Before long, clients were asking for layout and art design as well and the company began designing newsletters and advertisements. About the same time the Michigan courts began to standardize their court forms and Target was hired to consult on the form design and to set the type for the new standard forms. The firm was moved to Lansing shortly after to facilitate that work with the State courts.
Recognizing that parties who used the court system would want the new forms, Target hired local printers to manufacture the forms, which we then stocked and marketed to interested parties. We warehoused the forms and were able to ship forms the same day they were ordered and customers in most of Michigan could receive them the next day from UPS. Word of our fast service spread and Target grew accordingly, shortly coming to stock all forms approved for use in the Michigan courts. Because we continued to design newsletters and advertisements, we also hired local printers to print these two and four-color pieces for our clients as well.
By 1986 we were sending out so much printing, that it became obvious that we could buy printing presses ourselves and print jobs faster and with more control. Before long we outgrew our plant and in 1990 we bought a lovely 5-acre site on Interstate 96 just outside of Lansing, and had our plant built on that site.
Then in the mid nineties we doubled the size of this plant and added a lot more printing equipment over the next few years.
As a result of years of great service we have thousands of satisfied customers who continually reorder from us.
